Equal Access to Education
According to the article “Brown vs. Board of education during the 1954” from the Supreme Court history shows us that, an African-American child was rejected from a whites-only school. Although, the racial separation wasn’t mentioned in the 14th Amendment, black children weren’t allowed to go to the white school. Due to that, Brown went to the court, his child couldn’t go white school but they didn’t accept his complaint. He was black man and black people issue weren’t countable to them. However, Brown didn’t give up his appeal for the second time to the court. Furthermore, first black lawyer was haired on that time and this correlation lead the Supreme Court to change the lawyer or make new rule of black children that from now on black and white can go to the same school Regales of any. According to the article 26 from the UDHR, everyone has the right to free education, at least the elementary education and in the article “Brown V. Board” was violated. Overall, these illustrate that human right or black people were violated because of their race or skin color.
As mentioned in the article 26 from the UDHR, free education should be a privilege for everyone, regarding to the race, technique, religion, and parents decision of their children future. According to the 14th Amendment all people have the right to educate themselves. This means that, black and white people have same rights. Based on the article what we know is that black in the time black children didn’t have the equal right as white children. Therefore, black children had to go support school from white children.
Brown vs. Board of education play pivotal role because that law change everything about education and open new path for all generation. It’s true because it shows in the article that, the “Fourteenth Amendment guarantees equal education today”. This means that if that law wasn’t approved at that time none of us would be able to go to school expect for white people. For instance, Asians, Africans, Haitians would leave behind.
This article also suggests that “Brown vs. Board was not the beginning of the modern civil rights movement, but there is no doubt that it constituted a watershed moment in the struggle for racial equality in America.” This means that this is not the only case or time that black people were struggled or violated. There were more discrimination such as; Rosa Park in South part, that she was African American woman. Rosa Park was sitting on the bus in the front side but she wasn’t allowed to sit even though she came first. So she should first sit but that didn’t happen because Rosa was black and a white man told her to give him her sit. Due to he is white therefore he should sit. Eventually, Rosa Park refused to give her sit because that wasn’t fair to her. That she is black that’s why she should sit in the back. This historical example tells us that black people rights were violated.
This article reminds of us of the film “Ms. Ever's Boys,” which shows the separate and unequal treatment of African-Americans. In the movie, thousands of black people contracted syphilis, and they could not receive medical care like white people. Ms. Ever and a white doctor were rejected for public funds to help those sick patients because they didn't have that amount of money to treat those patients; unfortunately, the government rejected them to give them funds because they are black. As a result, Ms. Ever patients were dying one by one, so there wasn’t any choice for her; she was all by herself as they died. Clearly, this movie reveals how African-Americans' rights were extremely violated just because of their race.
To sum up, throughout the American history, African-Americans' right were violated more than a few times. This wasn’t fair to the people. According to the Bill of Rights, all people are equal, so this violation was unconstitutional.

Right to Education
By ELIZABETH JEAN, ANTONIO VARGAS, QIANRU ZHU, and CHENGYAN WANG
In the article, “Private: Back to Troubled School,” from New York Beacon, the author states that schools may force students to get better test scores instead of encouraging students to do the best they can. First, successful schools offer great literature, experiments and encourage reading and thinking. Second, school closures are one part of an effort to dismantle public services. The city also dismantle public housing and public health care system. Third, parents also hope the children go back to school again, and join the Black Star Project. It seems students from public shools are being seriously affected by this sitiation of closing schools, since the professors only focus on teaching about standardized tests and do not develop other areas of knowledge. Although this test tells the level of knowledge of students, it should not be a reason to close a school because many students are running out of education, and it is a violation of the right to education that everyone should have.
In today’s society, everybody of all ages, colors, races, languages, and cultures has the right to be educated. However, everyone in the US is not getting an equal education. In the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article number twenty-six states that “Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.” Moreover, in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, there are thirty articles, but this particular article,“Right of Education,” shows that white and black or any social class should have the same access to be educated. Nevertheless, this human right is not the law across the world. People are suffering due to the lack of knowledge of their human rights. Lastly, people are denied their human rights, and they have been through a lot of difficult situations.
Consequently, students of public schools are the most affected by this situation of the closure of schools and low level of learning. That is why the author states “Teachers are pressured in a system that only allows children to learn what’s on a standardized test. Children are not learning anything except what’s on the test. Teachers save their jobs and schools remain open.” This is a reason why black students have a low quality of education in public schools. Because the system pressure forces teachers to focus on a standardized test, this leads to children have a low level of learning. For example, if we asked a sportscaster about the statistics of baseball teams, on the results of the day, the most valuable player of the New York Knicks. Obviously he will have no problem answering, but if you ask that sportscaster about stock market, global economy or something related to psychology, he will not have the same forcefulness in his responses. So this is what happens with the children in those schools. They just focus in the standardized test and do not develop skills in other classes like literature, experiments, etc. Also it is a way that the teachers have to save their job. In addition the education system is discriminating and leaving few opportunities for public school students, especially black students who are the majority who attend those schools.
I agree when the author states that the black children need to go back to school. However parents’ responsibility is not only ensuring the safety of the children but also the education. If students are not in school, they could not learn; therefore, they could not pass tests, and bring trouble to society. Schools can meet their needs that give children education and keep children safe. Since personality is very important in the age of the students, the children easily learn bad things. For example: drugs, crime, robbery. So they need a good education. I read a news article about two black teenagers, robbing in the evening. They took a bottle, attacked people who came home alone from work at night, then robbed them. How terrible it is! They are still young, but they stepped onto the path of crime. The research shows that black children's crime rate in the US is higher than other countries. Like Mr.Jackson said “Spending time in schools, organizing parents and protecting children is a must, if children are going to be in public education.” None of parents want their children to become a bad person. Parents are willing to do anything for their children, especially in education. The problem for school is the broken current education system to provide the highest quality of education for children, and also help black children get back to school.
In conclusion, everyone has the right of education. No matter if you are black or white, rich or poor, you should have the same education. But it seems that many schools do not meet this right of education for everybody; however, the responsibility falls primarily in the parents who should require and do everything possible for children to go to school. Also the department is responsible for insuring the education in each country, and we should demand that the government increase the budget of education because it is a way to stimulate more areas and develop teacher learning in schools in need. Education is a right that we all have and forms part of our future and integrity to society.
